What we do

The Kaizen team offers creative, yet highly practical solutions via our unique workshops and innovative programmes.

All of our workshops and programmes are bespoke designs, tailored to the needs of the client and the participants. We have designed and delivered many types of work for a wide range of clients within the statutory, private, and voluntary sector.

We develop long term partnerships with clients and work together to identify the current issues, the desired results, and design creative solutions to achieve this.

The following gives examples of the work we deliver and of some of the component parts of our programmes.

Coaching Skills Workshop

Kaizen’s solution focused Coaching Skills programmes leave participants with a framework of skills and tools that increases their ability and confidence to manage, lead and coach others.

Our coaching programmes include training, phone coaching, observations, and group sessions, and are based on our “12 Key Coaching Skills” model. This is a framework to facilitate the understanding of coaching, and to provide a model against which coaches can benchmark themselves and thus assess their own progress through the training process.

Community Leadership and Estate Regeneration Programmes

We deliver Community Leadership projects on inner city estates. This is an innovative process, which promotes and supports wider community involvement and empowers community leaders. It includes three elements:

• An engagement phase to enrol a diverse group of people to participate in the project;
Community Leadership workshops;
• Follow-up support (including phone coaching; training; project support).

Group Supervision / Team Building

Kaizen provides a safe, external place where staff can engage in a peer support process. They will discuss work-related issues, explore common practices and different ways of working with challenging situations. This can be delivered either as a stand-alone teambuilding event or as an ongoing set of supervisions.

Mentor Training Workshop

Kaizen’s two-day Mentor Training Workshop challenges participants to examine the way they approach working with young people. The participants will identify new ways of looking at situations, which will support them in being more effective in the task of mentoring through balancing coaching, support and holding those being mentored accountable.

Multi-Agency Partnership Projects

Our programmes bring together professionals from multidisciplinary teams across a large organisation, (such as a Local Authority), to explore what it takes to work together successfully and produce coordinated and effective results. They will develop a cohesive approach, a common language and structures for supporting themselves in meeting their targets.

We then coordinate the follow-up process, supporting the various teams to achieve their targets. This can include individual phone coaching, facilitating steering group meetings and training sessions.

Professionals Training Workshop

This two-day workshop is aimed at people whose job it is to facilitate the development of others. It challenges participants to examine the way they currently work with their clients and identify areas where they can be more effective. These workshops have been used by organisations working with young people or those supporting people in finding employment. We have successfully delivered them in local authorities, charities, companies, training providers and schools.

Schools Programmes

Kaizen offers a flexible service to schools to support them in addressing the challenges they face. Options include leadership training for young people, staff training and one-to-one or group coaching for staff.

We also offer a consultancy service for the Senior Management Team, eg in the area of whole school strategic behaviour plans, as well as support and training for Pastoral Leaders and Form Tutors. We can also work intensively with NQTs, RQTs and advanced skills teachers as part of their professional development.

Training Trainers Programme

We deliver training programmes for trainers that can be anything from a two-day workshop to ten days spread over several months. Participants are challenged to look at themselves and examine who they are as a trainer. They engage in a series of questions and conversations where they will explore the different elements of our programme, leaving the training with an increased ability to be effective.

Youth Leadership Workshop

Our 2-3 day Leadership Workshop challenges the participants to examine themselves: the way they think, feel and act. They will identify new ways of looking at situations, which will support them in being more effective in their lives.
